| Final Deal | Deal was made on the show with sharks Kevin O'Leary, Daymond John for $200k for 51% of Company, but it fell through after the show. |
With that lead up, I thought this guy was about to unveil a time-travel machine.
Is game-changing umbrella an oxymoron? Not according to Alan Kaufman who has created a hands-free umbrella alternative that wraps around your head like a giant orb.
Nubrella has sold 3k units out of his house, mainly due to the media picking it up.
Alan has put $500k of his money in and $400k from another investor but has spent all $900k. Alan gets by through funding from his family, who don't really want to talk to him anymore.
Daymond and Kevin Harrington eventually come to a deal.

In season 2, episode 5, we got an update that Daymond John got Nubrella a meeting with Sharper Image, which Alan Kaufman was trying to get for the last two years.

This web developer received half the agreed-upon price before he made the website and when the time came for Alan to pay the second half, he vanished.
Alan's deal with the sharks fell through, possibly due to Kevin Harrington not finding a reasonable price point for his audience. Daymond attempted to help Alan get distribution in retail stores but to no success.
Alan, desperate for money, sued Sony Pictures in 2010 for lost investment opportunities and seeking a profit cut each time his episode ran (perhaps this is why this episode is labeled as 110, aka season 1 episode 10 but in fact, aired last as the 14th episode). Alan settled for $20k.
Alan then attempted a second lawsuit which failed.
In 2013 he attempted to raise money on Kickstarter, but everyone that gave him money called it a scam and that he took their money. He did this on a few other sites like Indiegogo ultimately getting around $12k.
Furthermore, there are many complaints of people ordering a Nubrella and never receiving it or getting refunded.
With all that said, they rebranded to The Canopy to try and get a fresh start from their horrible reputation and their website is thecanope.com https://www.thecanope.comLink Preview
