There is an obvious convenience in folding a guitar's neck (let's pretend that's the technical term) while maintaining performance. With a patent and product in production, Voyage, Air Guitar is the only brand that can offer this.
They present a working version and have sold out of 800 units as a proof of concept, which equates to about $400k in revenue. Kevin O'Leary calls them out for his test, and not only does the guitar maintain good sound, but also Kevin O'Leary can play the guitar, some might say, wonderfully.
The sharks like the hands-off approach of making money by licensing the patent to pre-existing manufacturers and are focused on the patent. Kevin has to sell himself on his value by saying that he sold his previous company, which was all licensing, for $3.2 Billion.
Did...did you say 3.2 with a B?
Jeff, quite reasonably, asks for 50% equity each instead of 51% for the sharks, but they couldn't come to terms, and no deal was made.

Oh, but it wasn't "a wrap." Later, Kevin O'Leary worked out a deal with Voyage Air Guitars as this was clearly in a passion space of Kevin's while having the potential to make big money.
After airing, Voyager Air Guitar spread to retailers across the country. Additionally, Kevin helped secure a licensing agreement with Fender, one of the largest guitar manufacturers.
In season 2, episode 9, we got an update that Voyage Air Guitars did over $1.5 million in revenue and expected to double that in 2011. They also released an electric guitar model that quickly sold out.
In season 4, episode 9, Kevin brought Jeff to pitch Voyage Air Guitars to executives at Fender, one of the most well-known guitar companies. Fender agreed to do a test of 150 guitars.
As of 2022, Voyager Air Guitar does over $1 million a year in revenue. Guitars can be purchased on their website, voyageairguitar.com https://voyageairguitar.comLink Preview
