My Therapy Journal Shark Tank Pitch

Rodolfo Saccoman and Alexis Saccoman came to America from Brazil. Rodolfo has a background in marketing, and Alexis has experience in Therapy. They joined their passions and invested $125k to make a website called My Therapy Journal. Users can journal their thoughts and track progress as an affordable alternative to traditional in-person Therapy.

My Therapy Journal made $4k in revenue last year and has 1200 users, of which 1200 are paying subscriptions. Barbara and Kevin Harrington go out, and the rest are about to until Rodolfo and Alexis bring up the possibility of a large insurance company signing up and providing this to their millions of users.

Robert is the high-value shark with his previous success with an internet company. Kevin O'Leary and Robert are in, and Daymond offers to join in on their deal. Meanwhile, Barbara highlights the 51% the sharks asked for from Rodolfo and Alexis.

I hear a voice, but I don't see anybody.

— Robert Herjavec

After a custom handshake in the hallway between Rodolfo and Alexis, I got a bit worried. How far would these very close brothers go to help one another? They have all the users' data at their fingertips and the ability to sell it. What if they are loyal to Brazil, and this is all a ploy to collect American data? Okay, I'm getting side-tracked.

Kevin O'Leary and Robert ditch Daymond because he added nothing to the table, and a deal was made with Rodolfo and Alexis.

My Therapy Journal After Shark Tank

The deal never went through after the show. Supposedly Rodolfo and Alexis got a phone call from Kevin O'Leary and Robert, but that was it. Perhaps the sharks were contingent on an insurance company agreeing to work with My Therapy Journal, which never happened.

There was a bump in users after the show aired, and Alexis continued running the website until later in 2009, when he closed My Therapy Journal. Rodolfo started a different company.

Alexis Saccoman was a Psychologist and worked in a business called iThrive in 2013. According to a 2018 tweet from their Twitter, @journalwriting
