| Final Deal | Deal was made on the show with sharks Kevin O'Leary, Daymond John, Robert Herjavec for $300k for 51% of Company, but it fell through after the show. |
Sawyer Sparks invented and patented a wheat-free, gluten-free, soy-based modeling clay to cater to people with celiac disease who are allergic to the wheat in traditional Play-Dough.
According to Sawyer, 1/8 people have this disease. I swear I've heard of a million things that 1/8 people have, but nobody I meet has any of these things. Then again, I have like two friends.
Sawyer cooks Soy-Yer Dough out of his kitchen with his mom and his girlfriend. His goal is to "create jobs," while the sharks and likely his girlfriend and mother would prefer Sawyer stop focusing on this feel-good buzzword and instead free them from this slave labor and focus on efficiency and profit.
Sawyer has turned down a half-a-million dollar offer from Play-Dough to buy his patent.
I've been rich. I've been poor. Rich is much better.
Kevin is the expert licensing negotiator but Sawyer and Robert are critical of Kevin O'Learys profit focus. After Daymond tries to stir the pot up Kevin O'Leary stops the bidding war by having him, Robert, and Daymond join in on the deal. Sawyer accepts.
