Kim Nelson has had cake recipes passed down through several generations and considers cake baking skills her "god-given talent". Her company, Daisy Cakes, is named after her great aunt, Daisy.
Kim makes every cake with fresh ingredients with the help of her mother. They freeze their cakes and ship them nationwide. She gets the word out by traveling to small events to hand out samples.
Kim has put $93k into the business. In the last three months, Kim did $27k in revenue. Kim is also in the process of having her lemon curd sold in Whole Foods.
Oh wow. Wow, is that ever good?... The cakes are fantastic. Best cakes I've tasted [ever].
Best cake I've ever had. Really.
The sharks raved about the cakes, and after the four guys went out, Barbara noticed they kept eating. While the business felt small and the industry competitive, Barbara loved Kim's southern charm and took a shot.
