Julie Goldman, a.k.a. "The aisle Guru," found that common, paper wedding aisle runners easily tare, so she created a premium non-slip aisle runner company called The Original Runner Company. She also offers customizations through her studio.
Julie presents to the sharks her new product, a more affordable, plain white aisle runner she plans to have in wedding-related stores across the country. Alongside, she has created a kit to allow people to customize the aisle runners on their own.
Two years ago The Original Runner Company did $800k in revenue, last year, during the recession, $550k in revenue, and next year project $650k.
The sharks recommended Julie stay away from the low margin, budget aisle runners and stick with what's working. Kevin made an offer for 51% to have the control to keep Julie away from the "toilet bowl" weddings. Julie doesn't seem like she lets her employees control what soap goes in the bathroom, let alone let someone else control her entire company.

The Original Runner Company got an update on season 1, episode 9 of Beyond The Tank. Julie pursues her retail vision but ultimately came to the sharks' conclusion that there was no money to be made.
Barbara wished she had sided with Julie more during her pitch and spoke up on behalf of Julie. When Barbara visited Julie, Julie was doing $1 million in annual revenue. Barbara thought Julia needed help in marketing and growing her business.
Barbara offered to provide Julia with the help she needed to grow, and if Barbara could double the revenue for two straight years, Barbara would get 25% of the company. Julie accepts.
