AirBedz Shark Tank Pitch

Jim Pittman created an airbed specifically designed to be used in the bed (how fitting) of a pickup truck, called AirBedz, The Original Truck Bed Air Mattress. AirBedz has a motor to add or remove air and has four patents.

Jim has put $250k of his money into AirBedz. AirBedz is in most of the relevant stores and did $210k in revenue last year and has already done $210k this year and is on track to do $400k by year-end.

The sharks had questions about Jim's large inventory and mixed feelings about the demand for AirBedz. Barbara held out and made an offer she felt comfortable with but was too much equity for Jim to give up.

All sharks went out.

, AirBedz has had lawsuits against them claiming they infringed on another company called TruckBedz's patent.

Whatever patent issues arrived, Pittman seems to have overcome and continued to sell AirBedz through various retail stores such as Walmart and Costco.

In 2016 AirBedz had its own website and in 2022 AirBedz lives under the parent company Pittman Outdoors at its website, truckairbedz.com

. They have expanded to sell items such as tents and inflatable innertubes and water toys.
