I Want To Draw A Cat For You Shark Tank Pitch

Steve Gadlin has a knack for the paddy wack with his company, I Want To Draw A Cat For You. Steve takes requests to create a personalized, goofy cat drawing, posts it to his website, and ships it to the recipient.

Steve is a web developer by trade and started I Want To Draw A Cat For You to liven up his work and put a smile on peoples' faces. Steve kept that spirit in his pitch with a cheesy yet effective dance.

In about a year, Steve has drawn 1200 cat pictures for people. Mark Cuban "gets it" and made a deal under the condition that for every thousand cat drawings, Mark steps in and draws one.

. After $18k cat drawings Steve was burnt out of the cat drawing business and so was Mark Cuban. Steve made around $300k revenue, however, spent it on new projects, employees, overhead, and living which didn't result in much of a financial success.

Steve regrets that he did not capitalize on the opportunity better. Mark and Steve disagreed on how the business should've run. While Steve still pursues his other ideas, Mark is not interested in them, and Steve feels he has burned the bridge with Mark.

By 2015 steve was finished with I Want To Draw A Cat For You and moved on to his next project Steve Gadlin's Star Makers, a show where Steve finds quirky local talents to show the world.

In 2021 Steve raised $90k in a Kickstarter
