Invis A Rack Shark Tank Pitch

Donny McCall owns a construction company in his small town of Sparta, North Carolina. He uses his truck professionally and personally, so his wife inspired him to create a truckbed rack that can be easily put up for the job and collapsed down when Donny takes her on a hot date.

Donny is a man that stands by his values, which include religion, Americans, his town, and his family.

Blessings are when preparation meets opportunity, and I stand before you prepared.

—Donny McCall

Donny has done $50k in revenue this year with no profit. Invis-A-Rack has $75k of debt. His cost to make a unit is $250 and distributors would like to sell the product for $300 to $350 leaving little room to do business.

Donny's nationalism has him set on building his product in America. The sharks feel the market isn't willing to pay the high price point, and his company will go out of business, thus employing no Americans.

On the other hand, by finding an offshore supplier, the cost will come down so the business can flourish, and Donny can give Americans higher skill jobs such as marketing. Kevin uses one of the largest American employers, Apple, as an example.

Robert believes America is made up of a global economy and gets emotional speaking of his dad, who was an immigrant to America from Croatia.

I always asked [my dad] what he was most proud of, and the first factory job—not when he made some money, not when he got promoted—that factory job where he swept floors. That made him proud.

—Robert Herjavec

The sharks each have their reasons and go out, and Donny shakes each shark's hand before leaving to thank them for their time.

, Donny McCall had a surge in traffic to his website and sold out of his first batch of products. Donny's "Made in America" stance got him a lot of notoriety but not many sales.

In season 4, episode 16, we got an update that Invis-A-Rack sold $75k in a year and a half before Shark Tank and did that in the first three months after. Donny signed a licensing deal with DeeZee, which aligns with Donny's belief in manufacturing in America.
