Rent-A-Grandma Shark Tank Pitch
Todd Colby Pliss finds snobby teens make for lousy babysitters because they are focused on texting—All of that focus on texting and I couldn't get a text back. That's beside the point.
Todd found that grannies are a much better alternative. He started Rent-A-Grandma and has 50 grannies in Los Angeles, where grannies go for about $14 to $20 an hour while a regular babysitter goes for $10 to $13.
Rent-A-Grandma is trademarked and has done $25k in revenue in almost a year of existence. Todd wants to franchise Rent-A-Grandma. I feel like it would be more of an app/website play over a franchise, but I'm just the messanger.
Todd has found a unique angle and the concept makes sense. The sharks get a good laugh out of Rent-A-Grandma but think it's too early and don't like the space.
