The Original Profender Shark Tank Pitch
Tony Devine is a basketball coach and found players were great shooters until somebody was in their face. He created The Original Profender, a tool that allows coaches to efficiently and accurately simulate a defender in a player's face.
Tony has $25k of sales in the first year from selling The Original Profenders for $500 a pop—sorry $499.95. He intends to introduce a lower-price, $199 version for the average backyard hooper.
Mark reveals the alternative to this is the younger coach holding up a broom. The sharks see the market only being a well-funded college or pro programs and don't see it working out.
I know a guy in the hood that will guarantee to come to your house every day for the rest of your life for $500 and guard you and your entire family, and he is tall!
Tony and Devon not only brought a couple of characters to the tank but also showed character. Their New York vibe makes me want to go to the deli and grab a hero.
