Corks Away Shark Tank Pitch

Shane Cianciolo and Nathan Buffett have created a retreat for small groups to enjoy wine and food on the seas with their business, Corks Away.

Shane and Nathan have done $250k of revenue in their first year with just one boat. Shane and Nathan want to franchise their model. For $175k, they will give a franchisee a boat and everything needed to start the business.

The sharks likely went from potentially interested to way out when Shane and Nathan proudly spoke of the businesses they want to branch off of Corks Away.

Shane and Nathan see potential in selling their pesto tort (an appetizer they gave the sharks to try). They also want to open an indoor dinner ride in Las Vegas.

While the provided wine may have encouraged the sharks to make an offer, all the sharks go out. Shane and Nathan leave with smiles still on their face.

Corks Away After Shark Tank

According to a 2017 article by sunnews.org

, Shane Cianciolo and Nathan Buffett were forced to shut down Corks Away after the Coast Guard implemented new boat seating laws, which caused too prohibitive of an effect on their business practice.

Shane's boat broke down in El Salvador on a trip to Panama and he found his next purpose was to help the local struggling communities. In 2014 Shane met and married his wife. They moved to El Salvador labeling it a mission trip.

While that sounds like it means forcing personal beliefs on a vulnerable group to grow the social proof of a cult while destroying local culture, I didn't see the word Jesus used in every other sentence so it sounds like they are focusing more on improving the life for kids long-term.

In 2022 it is unclear what Nathan has been up to or if Shane is still in El Salvador.
