Ruckpack Shark Tank Pitch

Rob Dyer is in the U.S. Military and found himself seeking an energy drink with a less dramatic peak and crash. With a team of Marines, Rob created Ruckpack.

Ruckpack aims to be a nutritional shot that is healthy contrary to what is currently on the market. Rob currently works as an accounting professor in the military and has two and a half more years of service to provide.

Ruckpack has 16 investors already and is 80% military-family owned. Rob owns 43%. Rob has put $95k of his money into Ruckpack and the company in total has raised around $240k.

Rob spent money on the website, research and development, and the first 20k units of inventory, which he already sold out of through local vendors. Rob has another 80k units on the way.

in 2014. Rob said he relied on online sales after Shark Tank but Robert and Kevin encouraged Ruckpack to go bigger and helped get it into Walgreens. Rob was raising money to help grow the business. They also rolled out an affiliate program where veterans could earn commissions from selling Ruckpack.

In season 5, episode 12, we got an update that Ruckpack had done $35k in revenue before Shark Tank and $500k in revenue 10 months later. Ruckpack sponsored a jet. They got into all 8600 Walgreens in a deal worth $4 million. In season 5, episode 29 (the season finally), Ruckpack was briefly mentioned in the montage of season updates.

Rob Dyer gave an update on Ruckpack on episode 106 of Beyond The Tank in 2016. After Shark Tank, business picked up beyond the point Rob could handle, so in 2014 Rob hired a CEO, Derek Herrera, who lost the company a lot of money and was eventually replaced with Rob's childhood friend, Jimmy Patrick O'Brien Jr. Ruckpack changed manufacturers to The GHT Companies in San Diego, California.
