Teddy Needs A Bath Shark Tank Pitch

Nicole Townend is married to professional skateboarder Tosh Townend. The two have a two-year-old girl who inspired Nicole to create a bag for washing stuffed animals and complimentary add-on products under the brand Teddy Needs A Bath.

Washing a teddy bear by itself may cause scratches to the eyes and other damage to the bear. The dryer sheets come in unique smells that can for example make the bear smell like cotton candy.

Teddy Needs A Bath has been on Babies 'R' Us' website for four months, has sold a couple of hundred units, and has hopes of launching in the retail stores. Sales have been $12k over six months.

Perhaps the cotton candy-smelling bear had Mr.Wonderful feeling generous because after three sharks went out, he threw out an offer. Mark was interested and eventually made a deal both Nicole and Mark were happy with, and made the Townend's a happy family.

on medium.com in 2020, where she speaks about getting in a life-changing car crash as a defiant 18-year-old who was voted best-looking girl at her school. In brief, Nicole was not wearing a seatbelt when her car clipped the curb and rolled. Nicole was ejected through the rolled-up window causing significant damage to her face and breaking her femur, pubic bone, and clavicle. Nicole was hospitalized and in a wheelchair for weeks with an eye patch. That's just cherry-picking some notable parts...I mean...just wow.

with Shark Tank Blog after airing. Nicole said she read each shark's book and watched every Shark Tank episode, which led her to change her ask from $150k for 15% to $50k for 10% to increase her chances of getting a deal. Lori came back in and made an offer after Nicole brought up dryer sheets but that never made the edit.

Mark and Nicole agreed that a royalty deal wouldn't be ideal, so they restructured the deal to be a loan that Mark made more generously than the traditional 15-20% interest. Mark also advised Nicole and was responsive to her emails.

Teddy Needs A Bath's website got 100k visitors in the 24 hours following the airing amassing over 1k orders. Nicole pushed back being released into Babies 'R' Us to fill orders from the Shark Tank rush and also signed a deal with Bye Bye Baby.

After appearing on Shark Tank, con artists pretending to be a home shopping network tricked Nicole into sending them $10k. They had a believable act and even went over scripts with Nicole. Nicole discovered the scammers were in Florida. However, due to the overwhelming number of scams, $10k was too small to encourage law enforcement to track the culprits down.

In season 5, episode 7, we got an update that Babies R' Us was putting Teddy Needs A Bath in 450 stores nationwide. Before Shark Tank, sales were $12k, and sales of Shark Tank have been $100k, and they are on track to hit $1 million within a year. Nicole made a deal with Gund, who would take over the entire process and allow her to take a creative role. Since making the deal with Gund, Nicole moved to Hawaii and can spend the time with her family that she always desired.

, in 2013 she signed a five-year licensing deal with a plush manufacturer GUND. In late 2019 Nicole sold Teddy Needs A Bath to Charisma Brands. In 2022 Nicole is a social media manager for a food company and co-founded Celuí Fragrance, selling premium pheromones (Are pheromones scents given off when sweating that primitively caused sexual attraction?). Nicole also consults entrepreneurs.

In 2022 Nicole and her husband, Tosh, appear to be very happy. Nicole actively posts on her Instagram, @nicolesmellsgoooood
