Soundbender Shark Tank Pitch
Moshe Weiss is a rabbi who ran a Jewish high school for boys until it was forcest to shut down as finances drew tight in the 2008 recession. After receiving an iPad as a gift, he cupped his hand around the speaker to redirect the sound toward him. Comedic expectations of a rabbi are generally not present, so it was funny to see Moshe put on an engaging, playful demonstration of his product, Soundbender.
Soundbender is a small plastic attachment that magnetically attaches to an iPad to redirect sound to the viewer. Each unit costs Moshe $1 to make and he sells them for $12.99. Moshe makes his product with a manufacturer not far from where he lives in Minnesota.
Moshe has sold 7000 units in Soundbender's six-month existence. He also has interest from Walgreens to put Soundbender in their stores. Moshe wants to use the money to modify the mold on more time.

Soundbender After Shark Tank
Rabbi Moshe Weiss did an interview https://www.sharktankblog.com/rabbi-moshe-wiess-soundbender-interview with Shark Tank Blog following the pitch. Moshe said he was happy with the edit and held a viewing party. When Mark Cuban asked Moshe how he watched the show Moshe replied "on my iPad! I watch everything on my iPad." Moshe enjoys working with Daymond and one day and quips that he one day hopes to buy a car where the window rolls all the way up.Link Preview

Moshe raised $10k in a Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/soundbender/soundbender-power-free-magnetic-sound-enhancer-for campaign he ran the day of his Shark Tank airing in 2013. At the time of the airing, Soundbender was in 350 Walgreens.Link Preview

In season 5, episode 8, we get an update that SoundBender had done $7k in sales before Shark Tank and was now nearing $250k in sales. Daymond brought Moshe to the company, Wish Factory, who they licensed SoundBender to with a yearly minimum sales guarantee of $2 million.
Based on the Soundbender Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TheSoundBender, Moshe received a patent a few months after airing. He and Daymond seemed to hit it off and released a few more versions of the SoundBender for different devices. One of the last posts is from 2014, where Moshe writes that he was driving and hit and killed a 79-year-old man walking on the road and felt horrible but felt better speaking about it.Link Preview
