in Mars Attacks! but fortunately, when the beings emerged from the shadows it was just the Inventioneers.

The Inventioneers Smartwheel Mars Attacks! Shark Tank

The self-proclaimed Inventioneers are six kids who I believe live together in a parent-free campground building unsupervised science projects but don't quote me on that. Their names are TJ Evarts, Jaiden Evarts, Bryeton Evarts, Paige Balcom, Emily Balcom, and Kate Balcom. They created the Inventioneers eight years ago (Were they 4-years-old?) with the goal of changing the world.

Smartwheel is a prototype of a steering wheel cover that lights up and beeps when an unsafe driving position is detected. The Inventioneers plan to spend $75k to finish a production-ready prototype and the following $25k to buy inventory. They plan to sell Smartwheel for $200 and pay $50 to produce each unit.

The Inventioneers were invited to the White House to present their invention to President Barack Obama, who told them he wants a Smartwheel for his daughters when they're old enough to drive, and we know politicians don't just say things to be well-liked.

The Inventioneers Smartwheel at the White House with Barack Obama.

Unlike Barack Hussein Obama, the Sharks have to give actual money. Three sharks think no teen will ever use Smartwheel. Mr. wonderful points out that even if used, the Smartwheel doesn't stop distracted driving; it just annoys the driver further.

Three of the Inventioneers sat in a fake car the entire pitch, likely causing Robert to feel guilty enough to invest so they could stand up. Mark joined Robert to take a shot on the Inventioneers but with a vision to more or less sell the idea to a car company or build supplementary driving education products rather than basing their investment solely on the Smartwheel. The Inventioneers happily accept.

Smartwheel After Shark Tank

TJ Evarts and Jaiden Evarts received $80k from family and friends who saw an opportunity to learn by bringing a product to market with the potential for success. Their dad Brian Evarts had a background in manufacturing management. The Inventioneers got noticed by Shark Tank producers by presenting at invention competitions.

The Inventioneers weren't able to agree on the terms of the deal with the sharks so the deal fell through. In 2015 the Inventioneers attempted to raise $50k for Smartwheel through Indiegogo

, which they raised $2k. In 2019 Smartwheel won $40k by getting second place in e-Fest 2019 (no, I don't know what that is) according to unh.edu

I just see a word cloud of words like plastics, fellowship, tau, centennial. Looks like she's doing some charity thing in Uganda. Whatever.

I don't know what the rest of the Brady bunch is up to but Smartwheel looks to be dead since 2019 as of 2022. Barack Obama never got a Smartwheel for his daughter. We can only hope they stopped living in denial that this would work and took it behind the barn and shot it.
