Lani Lazzari is 18 years old and has suffered from eczema her entire life. Lani struggled to find a product that she could safely use on her sensitive skin, so at eleven years old, she created a line of skin products for sensitive skin called Simple Sugars.
In 2010 Lani was a sophomore in high school and her annual revenue was 13k. She "took the whole year off [from high school]" and grew sales to $38k the next year. This year (2012) Lani is graduating high school and will have more time to focus on Simple Sugars, which she projects sales to be $100k with a 75% profit margin before paying salaries.
Lani has funded the business with credit cards. Simple Sugars has three employees and gets help from family. Lani seeks money from the sharks to hire two salespeople. 60% of sales come from Simple Sugars' website and they are also sold wholesale, primarily through a large local grocery chain.
52% of the population describes themselves as having sensitive skin.
This stat sounds more like the question was framed to mislead respondents and was planned to be used to push a biased agenda. I don't like it. Mark Cuban's son suffers from itching and eczema similar to Lani, and like Lani, he is from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, so Mark has a strong personal draw to Simple Sugars. After the four other sharks go out, Mark secures a deal with Lani.
It's so simple to do that even an eleven-year-old can do it and apparently has.

Simple Sugars was featured in 2016 in season 2, episode 2 of Beyond The Tank. Simple sugars had done over $4 million in lifetime sales and had 22 employees. Lani and her mom started a men's skincare line called Smooth that has not taken off as they hoped. Mark gives them some tips and tells Lani her young age can't be an excuse anymore if she wants to grow to a $30 million company. Link Preview
