| Final Deal | All Sharks went Out |
Dave Alwan is the third generation of his family to be in the meat business. Echo Valley Meats aims to deliver the highest quality meats at a lower price than competitors by taking a smaller profit margin, sticking to the basics, and developing a more efficient system.
I love cold cuts.
Last year's revenue was $1.25 million between a retail store in Peoria, Illinois, catering, and mail order resulting in a $20k profit. Dave has taken it slowly and paid for his manufacturing equipment in full. Dave streamlined his manufacturing structure over the years to be capable of mass production. Profits become larger with minimal marginal costs after $1.2 million in sales.
Dave has only allowed Echo Valley Meats to grow through word of mouth thus far and plans to spend the $300k on national e-commerce advertising. However, he hasn't prepared the details of his plan for the sharks.
The sharks worry that spending the money on marketing is a gamble that even Dave is unsure of the cost to acquire each customer. Daymond is attempting to eat less meat and references his kids trying to eat vegan, which deters him from the investment (Is this a phase, Daymond?). All the sharks go out despite loving the meat and finding Dave respectable.

In season 5, episode 3 we got an update that Dave reacted to the sharks advice. Echo Valley Meats had over 1.6 million website visits and sealed deals with Amazon, Costco, Sams, and QVC. Dave projects sales of $5 million to 10 million for the coming year.
In 2015 Dave Alwan was invited back to Shark Tank to pitch Echo Valley Meats to the Sharks again.
