| Final Deal | All Sharks went Out |
Rusty Allen found himself spending too much money on single-use water bottles, so he went to the store and bought a reusable water bottle, and went on with his life. Just kidding. Rusty used his industrial design background to create Gobie H2o, the most advanced filtered water bottle on the market, featuring both a hard shell and a flexible portion for grip and compression. Rusty mixed potting soil into the bottle and drank the filtered water to show confidence in his filtration system.
Gobie H2o is made for $10 in San Diego, California and retails for $30. The filters provide an ongoing source of repeat sales. In 17 months, sales have been $285k. Rusty has no debt and wants to spend the money on inventory to roll out new colors and pay for operating costs. Rusty believes he will work harder than others as he believes he has done thus far in his journey.
The sharks call Rusty out that there are several other water bottles out there with filters that eliminate 99.9% of contaminants, but Rusty attests that his hard shell combined with a soft shell creates more pressure and better results for the same generic filter. Mark reasons that most Americans aren't sourcing contaminated water anyway and rusty should focus on marketing Gobie H2o as a cool, stylish bottle.
The sharks consider Rusty confused about his business and describe his pitch as convoluted. Daymond looks past this and makes an offer. Rusty attempts to bring other sharks back in but accepts Daymond's deal before talking Daymond out.
You guys are gonna regret this. I guarantee you, dude.
