Squirrel Boss Shark Tank Pitch

Michael J. Desanti or Mike D for short created Squirrel Boss, a squirrel-proof bird feeder. The feeder has metal around that can be remote-triggered by a human to deliver a harmless shock to the squirrel.

The sharks take turns zapping each other. Customers criticize that Squirrel Boss is too expensive. Some people claim it poorly treats animals, but Mike attests that the alternative is people "shooting squirrels to death." Lori questions the As Seen on TV label on the box, and Mike informs her that the news did a piece on Squirrel Boss.

Squirrel Boss has done $196k in lifetime sales. Mike put a few thousand dollars of his money in and found an Angel investor to put in $140k, which Mike has paid back $102k.

Squirrel Boss appeared to be a joke pitch to get the Sharks through the day, and nobody expected to get any offers. When sharks start going out Mike says he really needs a deal and can't leave without a deal. It finally came down to Daymond and you could cut the tension with a knife, and Daymond bluntly and simply says he's out. Mike's playful personality was replaced with solemn disappointment.

I can't leave. I won't leave.

—Mike Desanti
