Fuzzibunz Diapers Shark Tank Pitch

Tereson Dupuy created a reusable diaper which saves parents money by buying 12 Fuzzibunz diapers instead of 8k disposable diapers.

Tereson has been doing Fuzzibunz for 12 years. Last year's sales were $3.9 million with only a $20k profit.

Tereson outsourced her manufacturing to China, and Fuzzibunz were soon sold by Chinese competitors under different names. Tereson has a weak patent but intends to sue.

I think once a stone starts rolling down a hill, it's very, very difficult to stop.

—Robert Herjavec

The sharks all felt there was too much crap going on around Fuzzibunz for it to be a worthwhile investment. All sharks went out.

Fuzzibunz Diapers After Shark Tank

Daymond John likened the pitch to the pealing of layers like an onion. Well, there were many layers more of Tereson Dupuy and Fuzzibunz that I gave solid effort at attempting to collect.

. Tereson said her neighbor growing up turned out to be a serial killer, Tereson was sexually abused, and by age 14 was an alcoholic.

Tereson had a kid at 28 who had autism, which is what inspired her to create Fuzzibunz diapers. Tereson grew up without much money and when she found herself with a flourishing business and money her ego grew so much so that 12 years later when Shark Tank called she nearly turned them down claiming she was too big.

Tereson was struck when Robert Herjavec told Tereson that he thought she was the problem. While it didn't make the final edit it caused Tereson to reassess her ego. Tereson was still drinking at this time and stepped away from being CEO to let others run Fuzzibunz who ultimately did a worse job.

One year later, Tereson got sober from alcohol and rejoined Fuzzibunz. In 2018 Tereson received a legal settlement that she had been fighting for seven years, which allowed her to move on from Fuzzibunz for the last time.

Tereson wrote in a 2019 post on her Instagram, @teresondupuy

, that she left Fuzzibunz twice and defeated her demons one by one. She had been traveling around the country, possibly living in an airstream. Tereson announced that she was excited to start a new underwear brand called Youni underwear.

Single-use disposable Adult diapering products are taking up 7% of all landfill waste.

I'm not sure where Tereson gets these facts. Over the next two years, Tereson put all her money into Youni underwear, a similar concept of Fuzzibunz except targeting older people. In 2020 they finally found an investor, but he ended up backing out upon the onset of the Covid panic.

One month later Tereson's son, Eden, committed suicide. Tereson put Youni underwear on hold, sent her youngest son to college, gave her belongings to her daughter, and went on a six-month traveling and hiking spree to grieve.

Tereson went back to having a simple job working in a retail store in upstate New York with money coming in. She eventually shifted to working for a company that helps female sexual assault victims in India. These employers helped Tereson get through the hard times.

In 2019 Tereson released a book called Superpowers for Entrepreneurs, where she spoke about overcoming her addictions and demons over the previous seven years.

In 2020 Tereson revealed in an Instagram post that she was releasing a book she had been working on for seven years called Refusing To Drown. She also released a podcast with the same name detailing her life experiences.

In 2022 she released two episodes for her new podcast, The 8 Keys to Heaven. Tereson also seems to have begun to follow a dream of singing with her band, Blessid Dirt
