The Pitch

Mona Weiss and Scott Shields have learned about a berry from the Himalayas that naturally produces soap, called the soapberry. Mona and Scott sell these nuts in their company Eco Nuts to be used as a natural alternative to conventional laundry detergent.

Eco Nuts has been in business for three years. Last year they did $100k in annual revenue and are on track to do $250k this year. Mona is a self-proclaimed social media ninja and playfully touts having more Facebook friends than Barbara.

The sharks found Mona and Scott provided confusing numbers, a small market product, and a confusing product to educate consumers on. All the sharks go out.

They have cheerful and funny personalities. Mona and Scott have been engaged for five years and have been waiting for financial success to get married. Before they leave the tank Kevin O'Leary offers to marry Mona and Scott right then and there, but they decline.

with Shark Tank Blog, Mona Weiss discovered the soapberry during an academic expedition to Costa Rica to study animal behavior for her college major. She also had a background in areas such as animation which helped her prevail in social media.

Mona was born and raised in New York, where she was a regular child actress on Sesame Street. Mona attributed her jokes in the tank to her New York upbringing.

Mona regretted not speaking more about their other products such as liquid laundry detergent and cleaning sprays.
