Shemie Shark Tank Pitch
Shelton Wilder has been into fashion design since she was 16 years old. She worked as a buyer, and manager at fashion stores and now as a designer for Nordstrom Rack.
Shelton created a comfortable base layer clothing piece for women called Shemie that she has been selling for six weeks. Shelton is trying to get into Nordstom rack using her network.
Shelton did $150k of revenue in 18 months selling a similar product under the name Sheltini. Shelton did not want to bring up Sheltini but it slips out and the Sharks press Shelton for the full story.
During that time Shelton was an alcoholic, eventually went personally bankrupt, and had to go to rehab. She associated Sheltini with these bad memories. Shelton has not drunk alcohol for two years and seeks a fresh start with her new business and revamped product, Shemie.
Shelton leaves the sharks with no doubt that she is a go-getter. The sharks shockingly revert their attention to the Shemie, feeling that the space is too competitive, and all sharks go out.

Shelton had been dying to get her business going and when one of her friends in Los Angeles knew one of the producers, Shelton used that as a catalyst to start Shemie.
Shelton wished the edit focused on the product more, but she was overall happy with her Shark Tank experience. She also noted that Lori went out last, even though they edited it differently.
Shelton redid her website to use Shopify and got the website live the day before airing, which got around 23k visitors. She set up a Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1670268821/shemie-layer-with-love campaign to convert preorders because she had no inventory and she raised $33k.Link Preview
