Despite not getting a deal, Melissa and Rachel benefited from the feedback and fine-tuned their marketing plan and website. Their improved website handled the rush of traffic on Shark Tank night. The girls wanted to build a lasting brand rather than having a single spike in sales. They expanded Cashmere Hair into beauty salons and created new products in the months following Shark Tank. Melissa values customer feedback and always attempts to listen and improve the product and overall customer experience over time. Cashmere Hair had projected sales of $1.5 million for 2014.
Melissa and Rachel had a relationship that complimented each other perfectly. Melissa takes care of product knowledge, manufacturing, and retail processes. Rachel is strong at designing, and she put together the website and handles photo shoots. Rachel and Melissa are not only great friends, but they also married into the same family because their husbands are brothers.
