Alaska Glacial Mud Co Shark Tank Update

Alaska Glacial Mud Co Shark Tank Pitch

Lauren Padawer lives in Alaska, where she found her feet sinking into buttery mud on a hiking trip on the Copper River. Lauren identified the mud to be an ideal consistency to use as a skin product. Lauren captures the mud and processes it into a clean, consistent product under the brand Alaska Glacial Mud Co. The mud is supposed to absorb toxins and remove dead skin cells.

Lauren fishes alone three months out of the year as a commercial salmon fisherman, bringing in $100k in annual revenue. Lauren has put $50k into Alaska Glacial Mud Co. This year's sales are $36k through wholesaling through spas. Lauren finds the spa market extremely difficult to break into.

The sharks agree that the demand for the product does not justify the amount of money and effort required to break into mass markets and educate consumers about the product and its story. All sharks go out.
