Life Caps Shark Tank Pitch
Daryl Stevenett is a musician who had an idea after seeing a story about trapped coal miners. Daryl had his friend, who had built his own nutrition bar company, create a survival pill to take in times of emergency when food is in short supply called Life Caps. Life Caps are meant to satisfy nutritional needs and supress hunger craves. Daryl has not eaten any food in eight days except Life Caps.
Deryl said he lost one pound a day as a byproduct of not eating, which is not shocking. Daryl does not push Life Caps as a weight-loss pill. Still, the largest customer audience has been women seeking to lose weight. Mark claims Daryl is a "snake-oil salesman" selling an unproven weight loss product. Lori sees the ingredients as no different than a regular multivitamin.
In five years, sales have totaled $440k. Daryl wants to use the investment to pay for a clinical study to improve Life Cap's reputation in the face of skeptics. Daryl calls Lori "Barbara," and the sharks laugh at Daryl's claim about remaining mentally alert. All the sharks go out.

Life Caps After Shark Tank
The Video of Daryl Stevenett promoting Life Caps in 2009 after 17 days of eating nothing but Life Caps is on YouTube . He appears to be sincere in pushing the product as a survival-only product, while the show hosts include four females who brought up weight loss and likely have a predominantly female audience. Daryl says the pill contains essential nutrients that the FDA recommends, although Daryl does claim Life Pills eliminate hunger.

As of 2023, Life Caps' website redirects to a new domain which shows LefeCaps as sold out. The Life Caps Facebook posted in 2019 about launching a new version of Life Caps, but there is no sign of that ever being released. It's hard to tell long Daryl remained involved with Life Caps.
