Buzzy Shark Tank Pitch

Dr. Amy Baxter found needle phobia was an issue for injecting shots, so she created Buzzy4Shots (Buzzy). Buzzy is a vibrating massager combined with a cooling temperature that numbs the injection site before delivering the shot.

Buzzy4Shots launched in 2009 and was on target for sales of $1 million this year with a $270k profit and projections of $2.5 million in sales next year. Amy is a full-time doctor and has six moms who work for her part-time. Amy attempted to make Buzzy in China but found it was just as expensive as producing it in the US.

. Amy said one of the goals of going on Shark Tank was to bring awareness to her product for the good of society. She also did want to mark her price up or use other tricky ways to get more money from people, such as selling subscriptions to single-use accessories like she often saw in the medical product space. Amy said she managed to keep the company profitable, which decreased her reliance on outside funding to keep the business going.
