| Final Deal | Offer made from sharks |
Pat Crowley is an environmentalist inspired to make an eco-friendly energy bar. Pat works in a small kitchen, making each bar by hand. Chapul's secret ingredient is crickets, which provide a source of protein. Crickets are ground into flour and used in the bars.
Lifetime sales in around a year are $50k. They are growing every month, with projections of $150k this year. Chapul needs an investment from the sharks to increase their production capabilities. Pat says Chapul is the only company making cricket bars right now.
The sharks are turned off by the idea of eating crickets, including adventurous Robert. Barbara liked the taste, though. After four sharks go out, Robert points out that Chapul has a business beyond being a protein bar by selling cricket flour. Mark is tempted and after Pat makes a few counter offers Robert jumps back in forcing Mark's hand to accept Pat's counteroffer.

In season 13, we got an update that people were not reordering Chapul bars, retailers started dropping the product, and in 2018 Chapul's co-packer went out of business. Chapul pivoted to focus on building insect farms that convert would-be-wasted food into a valuable source of energy for farms. 2021 was their best year ever with $400k in sales. A new farm is set to finish in 2022 that they expect will do $20 million in annual revenue and create 50 to 75 jobs.
