Fairytale Wishes Shark Tank Pitch

Debbie Glickman created scented sprays to deter monsters that kids imagine when going to bed. The brand Fairytale Wishes has several flavors, such as grape jelly and bubblegum.

Fairytale Wishes has been in business for four years and did $5,500 in sales last year. The sprays were in Bed Bath Beyond for a short period, where they sold a small amount when placed in the front of the store and not at all when it was pushed to the back.

I've never gotten anything but wonderful, positive feedback.

—Debbie Glickman

The sharks suggest to Debbie that the sales are evidence enough that this is a failing idea. Some suggest Debbie create smaller bottles and one magic spray rather than several flavors. All sharks eventually go out.

A goal without a timeline is simply a dream.

—Robert Herjavec

Debbie Glickman did not apply to be on Shark Tank but rather got an out-of-the-blue call from a producer who saw FairyTale Wishes somewhere. After not getting a deal, Debbie decided she would not put much money into the business beyond keeping it afloat. Debbie said the Sharks were much nicer than portrayed, and Kevin was right that this was a hobby for her. Debbie enjoyed seeing sales each time the show reran. Debbie got a real estate license and followed that as her main income source.

, FairyTale Wishes operated on a barebones budget and was in 29 boutique stores but closed its doors in 2019. Debbie continues to be a real estate broker as of 2022.
