| Final Deal | Deal was made on the show with sharks Mark Cuban for $2 million for 20% of company. |
Melissa Carbone created TenThirtyOne Productions, which creates live attractions in the horror space. Melissa has a background in radio from working at a radio station called Clear Channel, which she uses to advertise.
TenThirtyOne runs a haunted hayride in Los Angeles, which generates $1.8 million in revenue each year in October with a $600k profit from the 100k customers it served last year. Melissa plans to expand to New York and other cities. She also plans to introduce The Great Horror Campout to expand from being a seasonal company to covering summertime.
The $2 million for 10% is a high ask, and many sharks are not keen on the valuation. Daymond was on his way out when everybody egged him on to make an offer at whatever insane valuation he had in mind. Melissa is there to make a deal and makes a counteroffer halving her valuation, and Mark catches everyone off guard when he says he's willing to do that deal, and Melissa accepts.

Shark Tank production initially reached out to Melissa, who was uninterested and didn't know much about the show. She eventually decided to go on the show and closed the largest deal in Shark Tank history with Mark Cuban. Melissa was also concurrently getting divorced from Alyson, which complicated things slightly, but they were still both instrumental in the business and continued to work together.
In season 6, episode 5, Melissa gave an update that they projected $4 million in sales in 2015. Melissa expanded their Haunted Hayride to New York City, opened the Great Horror Campout, Ghost Ship: a haunted megayacht that sails on the water, and Great Horror Movie Night.
Melissa has a passion for a range of philanthropic efforts. As of 2021, Melissa recently finished writing a book, "Ready Fire Aim", finished the ninth LA Haunted Hay Ride, and collaborated on a new film project, which looking at posts from Melissa's Instagram, @melcarbs https://www.instagram.com/melcarbsLink Preview

Melissa thought it would be a fun escape to tailgate and attend a country music festival. On second thought realized it would be fun to also build a company behind it, so in 2018 she started Tailgate Fest.
