James Ambler married his wife, Kate, four years ago and now has a one-year-old daughter and another on the way. James thought it would be ideal to use a photo of his proposal for wedding invitations. He saw no companies providing this service, so James used his six years of experience as a paparazzi photographer in New York City to start Paparazzi Proposals. James gets on one knee to be on theme and proposes the sharks make a deal with him.

James has operated his business in New York City but wants to expand into other cities. James gives jewelers commissions for upselling people who buy engagement rings. Paparazzi Proposals will also speak with the guy to help him plan out his proposal and orchestrate things like getting flowers.
Sales were just under $100k over the last two years combined. Kevin has a history of investing in wedding and funeral businesses because he believes people are emotional and overspend during these periods. Still, due to the high evaluation, he goes out.
The sharks were arguing like a married couple the entire time. Lori eventually made an offer, enticing Kevin to join in and Robert to make an offer. James wanted Robert and Lori, but as James described it, "Robert got his knickers in a twist." James surprised many sharks with a deal he made with Lori and Kevin because they thought he agreed to a low evaluation deal.

James got into photography while he was young by taking pictures of his friends skateboarding. By college, James was interested in war propaganda and sought to be a war photographer. He started a job for a news team before a girl he met encouraged him to fly across the ocean to visit her periodically. James would pick up photography gigs in the souring paparazzi market in New York. James and the girl quickly split up, but James loved running around New York and the world doing things like hiding in a flower pot to discretely photograph a wedding and playing the paparazzi game of sending competing paparazzi the wrong way. James smoked cigarettes often and made other non-doctor-recommended lifestyle choices that led to him having a clot requiring open-heart surgery at age 28. Staring at a door for 15 hours straight from a hot car was not part of the recovery plan. A year later, a recession occurred, and James lost his paparazzi job and found work as a server at a New York City restaurant, where he often saw celebrities like Jimmy Fallon.
James got married and was able to raise some money to start Pap The Question, which James soon renamed to Paparrazi Proposals. James said he did not go through with the deal after the show. He initially saw loads of success, however, after the rush of demand, there came a flood of competition. Paparazzi Proposals did outlast the struggle and survived, though. James later attempted to start a company called RokShok to sell phone cases that hold a ring, so a person can film the recipient's reaction, but it fizzled out.
