PetPaint Shark Tank Pitch

Abe Geary tried to put a shirt on his dog and found the dog chewed at it and did not like it, so Abe, over a few years created a way to decorate dogs without anything they knew they were wearing. Abe created PetPaint, a spray paint to stylize pets.

Abe has put $240k into PetPaint and $200k of which is still in inventory. So far, Abe has sold $70k of products in less than a year and expects to finish his first year at around $200k in sales. PetPaint has a 50-store test upcoming with PetSmart worth about $12k. Abe has not directed any attention toward online sales.

Barbara was the first shark out, and the rest were going out when Barabara jumped back in with an offer. Perhaps after watching Abe pitch to the rest of the sharks, Barbara saw Abe in the right light looking like Tom Cruise. Barbara wanted 60% equity and would run the entire business. Still, Abe decided that wasn't the route he wanted to take, though he intended to implement the online strategies the sharks encouraged him to do.

PetPaint After Shark Tank

According to a 2014 article by pacbiztimes.com

, Abe Geary ran a successful trade-show exhibit building company called Creative Displays and started PetPaint on the side because of his passion for dogs. After Shark Tank, he took out a $125k loan to expand a sales team and build more inventory to roll out into 1,300 PetSmarts.

Abe Geary and PetPaint got an update on Beyond The Tank season 2, episode 2, in 2016. Abe regretted not taking Barbara's offer. He implemented a social media push to drive traffic to his website. In the two years following Shark Tank, PetPaint generated $2 million in revenue. The 50-store Pet Smart test went well, and Pet Paint expanded into 14k stores.
